Belle Brooke Biography
Belle Brooke established Belle Brooke Designs in January 2006 upon her return to Los Angeles. Born and raised in Houston,
Texas, Belle ventured westward in 1997 to attend Pitzer College in Claremont, California.
Her studies at Pitzer concentrated in various mediums of Studio Art, focusing mainly on photography.
After moving north to the San Francisco bay area, she began her jewelry studies at the The Crucible in Berkeley, Ca.,
and later attended the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco where she received her professional certification.
After completing her studies she went to work at Studio 311 as a bench jeweler. Belle has been the recipient of various awards,
most notably the prestigious 2008 Mort Abelson New Designer of the Year award. Presently, she lives, works, and creates in downtown Los Angeles.
The unusual and mesmerizing jewelry created by Belle Brooke, designer and visionary of Belle Brooke Designs,
acquires its azygous character through the process of hand fabrication. Each piece is created in either sterling silver or
18 karat gold and sprinkled with semi-precious and precious stones. Tiny tubes are hand placed and soldered in singular batches
to create the effervescent circular patterns that define the signature collection, Metropolis. This method ensures that each piece is always unique.
The Belle Brooke Designs studio is located in the heart of the historic bank district in downtown Los Angeles,
Ca. Every piece of jewelry is made in house by Belle, a professionally trained goldsmith with the help of trained assistants.
Each elegant piece of jewelry created is made from 100% recycled precious metals and ethically mined stones.

The signature Metropolis collection is inspired by manmade acquisitions of the natural symmetry
inherent in the organic worlds. It is an artistic rendering of the concept of cells and their multitudinous manifestations.
Upon close inspection, a leaf is the collaboration of a myriad of unique cells,
which together result in the creation of a whole object which is completely uniform and symmetrical in form. In turn,
this object makes up an even greater object, the tree. Each piece confirms the theory of strength in numbers and the power therein.
Successfully maintaining a balance between opposing forces and energies, the yin and the yang, fosters harmony among all things.
I seek to visually manifest this theory through the use of visual contrasts, black and white, empty and full, open and closed. Each form,
though seemingly asymmetrical, achieves balance in a theoretical manner. So inherent is this theory in our beings,
each piece succeeds in manifesting harmony. The embodiment of this theory serves as a reminder to the wearer that he/she must consciously
maintain the delicate equilibrium in order to sustain a constant, harmonious flow of energy through life.
